Artisanal pottery expansion in Chile and industrial recovery in Spain
In Collipulli, Chile, the Piutril-Santa Ema Mapuche pottery group has inaugurated a new kiln designed to double its production capacity. The project, a result of a 15-year collaboration with CMPC, aims to improve product quality and foster economic autonomy for the artisans. The craft is a multi-generational tradition, currently involving daughters and granddaughters of the original founders.
In Spain, the historic glass manufacturer Vicrila has achieved significant financial recovery a decade after facing potential liquidation. Following a period of insolvency in 2016 and subsequent investment by the Lanzagorta and López Ante families, the company overcame challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic. By 2022, the company reported revenues of 53 million euros, maintaining stability despite energy price fluctuations.
