Artisans in Argentina and Chile receive new support initiatives
Governmental bodies in Argentina and Chile have launched initiatives to support and organize the artisanal sector through new registrations and representative bodies.
In Entre Ríos, Argentina, a new call has been opened for the Provincial Registry of Artisans. The process is free and online, allowing existing members to update their professional data and new artisans to join. The registry aims to facilitate the recognition, promotion, and commercialization of local crafts by providing updated information on techniques, materials, and locations to inform public policy.
In Chile, the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage has opened applications for representatives to join Regional Craftsmanship Tables. This initiative follows Law No. 21.788 for the Protection and Promotion of Craftsmanship. These regional tables will serve as spaces for sector participation and representation, working alongside ministerial secretariats to help build public policies that address the specific needs of artisans.
