Artisans in Puno receive specialized training in alpaca fiber felting

Artisans in Puno and other regions have undergone specialized training to enhance their skills in creating decorative alpaca fiber products. The training focused on felting techniques to produce decorative figures inspired by the Suri and Huacaya alpaca breeds.

Organized by the CITEtextil Camélidos Puno of the Technological Institute of Production (ITP), the program included 38 participants who attended sessions both in person and via Google Meet. The workshop covered various technical stages, including creating base figures from cloth, using felting needles, attaching felt ears, and applying grooming techniques to achieve realistic finishes.
