Artist El Roto donates 301 works to Castilla-La Mancha

Spanish satirical artist Andrés Rábago, known as El Roto, has signed an agreement to donate 301 drawings and oil paintings to the Castilla-La Mancha regional government. The collection, valued at over two million euros, will become part of the region's artistic heritage.

The works are slated to be exhibited at the future Museum of Contemporary Art and Design of Castilla-La Mancha, located in the former Santa Fe convent in Toledo. The museum is expected to open its doors during the first quarter of 2027.

In recognition of this significant contribution, the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, announced that El Roto will be named an honorary son of the region during the institutional ceremony commemorating the Region's Day on May 31, 2027.
