Artist Giuliano Della Casa dies at 84

The Modenese artist Giuliano Della Casa has passed away at the age of 84. A significant figure in the artistic culture of the 1960s and 1970s, Della Casa was known for a multidisciplinary approach that spanned painting, poetry, ceramics, and book art.

Donatella Pieri, president of Fondazione Ago, described him as an "original and significant figure" whose work was characterized by a "freedom and lightness of line." His career included participating in the 36th Venice Biennale in 1972 and collaborating with various writers and poets to create artist books.

Local institutions, including the Istituto Venturi where Della Casa was once a student, have honored his memory. Students and faculty recalled his generosity and his ability to engage with new generations through live demonstrations of printmaking and engraving.
