Artist Slaven Petkova to present works at Art Athina 2026

Bulgarian artist Slaven Petkova will showcase a series of nine oil paintings titled ‘If We Were Friends’ at the Art Athina 2026 international contemporary art forum in Athens. The exhibition, curated by Kalina Zhecheva and presented by Gallery 33, is scheduled to take place from November 12 to 16 at the Onassis Ready space.

Petkova, who was born in Varna and raised in Athens, describes her artistic method as ‘restructuralism,’ a process of dismantling and rearranging established patterns of thought and perception. Her work utilizes humor and irony to explore human relationships, social tensions, and the qualities required to navigate periods of uncertainty.

Art Athina, established in 1993 by the Association of Greek Art Galleries, is one of Europe’s long-standing contemporary art forums. The 2026 edition will be held at Onassis Ready, a space associated with the Onassis Foundation.
