Artist Tạ Thị Ánh Hồng wins UOB Painting of the Year Silver Award

Artist Tạ Thị Ánh Hồng has received the Silver Award in the ‘Established Artist’ category at the UOB Painting of the Year 2026 for her work titled ‘Chờ’ (Waiting).

Moving away from her previous focus on the landscapes and life of the Mekong Delta, this silk painting explores more introspective and somber themes. The piece depicts a hospital waiting room with seven characters, capturing the quiet tension and the fragile boundary between life and death. The artist noted that the inspiration for the work stemmed from her own personal experience with a health scare in 2018.
