Artist Van Dung's approach to teaching her son financial management

Actor Long Vu has shared insights into the financial education provided by his mother, the well-known artist Van Dung. Despite coming from a prominent artistic family, Long Vu has adopted a practical approach to money management.

Long Vu revealed that because he felt he lacked control over his spending, he requested his mother to manage 60% of his income. While Van Dung initially resisted to encourage personal responsibility, Long Vu persisted, asking her to use the opportunity to teach him financial management until he becomes confident in his own abilities.

A key aspect of Van Dung’s parenting involves distinguishing between essential needs and personal hobbies. She has historically refused requests for luxury items, such as iPods or headphones, while ensuring he has sufficient funds for basic necessities like meals to maintain his health. This method has helped Long Vu understand that while parents provide for basic development, expensive personal interests must be funded through his own income.
