Artistic exhibitions in Germany explore future housing themes
Various cultural and artistic events are being organized in Germany to highlight themes of housing and architecture in connection with World Habitat Day.
In Göttingen, the project ‘Zwischen Wegen und Wänden’ (Between Paths and Walls) will feature an audio walk through the Geismar district from October 17 to November 15, 2026. Developed by the Göttingen Housing Agency in collaboration with several partners, the two-kilometer route uses installations, interviews, and audio stations to explore the future of communal and modified living spaces. Additionally, a pop-up exhibition titled ‘Wohnen im Umbruch’ (Living in Transition) will be held at the New Town Hall.
In Essen, BÖCKER-Wohnimmobilien is hosting the second ‘Kunst trifft Wohnen’ (Art Meets Living) event at Bredeney Park on October 15, 2026. The exhibition features artist Jürgen Paas and his ‘STRIPESnVIBES’ series. The event creates a dialogue between art and architecture by showcasing works within a building shell alongside a fully furnished model apartment, allowing visitors to experience the progression from raw construction to a finished home.
