Artistic legacy preserved in Provençal farmhouse
Marco ter Haar Romeny and Alisa Grifo, the creators of the art and retail concept Kiosk, reside in a historic farmhouse located near the village of Villars in the Luberon mountains of Provence. The property, consisting of two farm buildings connected by a shaded garden, was originally shaped by Marco’s father, the Dutch painter and master glassmaker Edlef ter Haar Romeny.
Edlef ter Haar Romeny, who was born in the Netherlands and lived in Paris, moved to the region in 1965 and purchased the then-derelict farmhouse in 1972. The couple continues to curate a global collection of objects for Kiosk, which functions as a blend of a sales platform, art project, and folk museum, drawing from items sourced during travels to locations such as Italy, Romania, and Hong Kong.
