Artistic training programs launched in Olinda and Juiz de Fora
Two distinct cultural training initiatives are opening registration in Brazil to promote artistic development and social inclusion.
In Olinda, the Lab PX program, organized by Produtora PX, is offering 20 free spots for cultural producers from peripheral areas. The program includes a R$ 250 stipend for participants and focuses on practical skills such as project development, public policy, and navigating cultural grants. Selection priority is given to women, Black individuals, LGBTQIAPN+ people, and residents of the Recife Metropolitan Region. The training will consist of five in-person sessions starting in November.
In Juiz de Fora, the Futuros Ancestrais project is hosting the Laboratory of Arts, Body, Memory, and Imagination. This 16-session program offers free classes in photography, painting, performance, and collage at the Centro Cultural Bernardo Mascarenhas. Inspired by Afro-futurist perspectives and Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous knowledge, the project aims to foster collective creation and identity investigation, culminating in a collective exhibition of the participants' work.
