Artistic works explore memory and heritage in Spain and Colombia

In Spain, artists Ana Ibarrondo and Pablo Pérez Alonso are presenting ‘Para la primavera, nada’, a dance-theater piece developed through two years of research into rural Aragón. The work incorporates dance, text, music, and audiovisual elements to explore themes of memory, abandonment, and the history of the Zaragoza-Canfranc railway line. The production, created under the creative label ‘La maestra de Niablas’, is scheduled to perform at the 40th Huesca International Festival of Theater and Dance on September 30.

In Colombia, artist María Isabella Arenas Hernández is presenting her solo exhibition, ‘Un campo azotado’, as part of the Salas Abiertas 2026 circuit in Bucaramanga. An alumna of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, Arenas developed the project through research into family narratives and local legends originating from a market in San Gil, Santander. The exhibition is hosted at the Centro Colombo Americano and will remain open to the public until October 18, 2026.
