Artists selected for 2027 Holy Week posters in Marchena and Cuenca

Artists have been selected to design the official posters for the 2027 Holy Week (Semana Santa) celebrations in Marchena and Cuenca, Spain.

In Marchena, the Consejo de Hermandades has unanimously chosen Sevillian painter Luis Rizo Haro. His work will focus on the Santo Entierro and the Soledad, specifically inspired by the Hermandad del Santo Entierro de Cristo, Ntra. Sra. y Madre de la Soledad Coronada y Triunfo de la Santa Cruz.

In Cuenca, photographer Julio Palencia has been named the official poster artist for 2027. His candidacy was supported by several brotherhoods, including the M. I. V. H. P. del Stmo. Cristo de la Vera Cruz and the V. H. de María Stma. de la Esperanza. Palencia, who works for La Tribuna de Cuenca, expressed both joy and a sense of great responsibility regarding the appointment.
