Artonov Festival celebrates multidisciplinary arts in Brussels

The Artonov Festival in Brussels is celebrating its 12th year with a multidisciplinary program spanning music, dance, theatre, fashion, and visual arts. Running from 4 to 23 October, the event utilizes diverse venues, including Art Nouveau masterpieces such as the Hôtel van Eetvelde and the Hôtel Winssinger, as well as the Usquare and the Uccle Cultural Centre.

The 2026 edition of the festival is set to honor the 160th anniversary of cultural and diplomatic relations between Belgium and Japan. Consequently, much of the programming features new works or versions developed through artistic residencies in Japan, exploring dialogues between heritage and contemporary creation.

Key highlights include the Artonov Lab at Place Sainte-Cathérine, which hosts ‘The Gods of the House’ exhibition featuring Buddhist sculptures and textiles from rural Japan. Other featured performances include Olivier de Sagazan’s ‘Hybridation’ at the Uccle Cultural Centre.
