Finnish forward Arttu Hyry impressed during the Dallas Stars' first preseason game, scoring an early goal in a 2–1 victory against St. Louis. The 25-year-old, formerly of Oulun Kärpät, received significant praise from Stars coach Glen Gulutzan.

Gulutzan described Hyry as a strong two-way player with an NHL-caliber physical presence and high hockey intelligence. The coach specifically highlighted Hyry’s reliability and effectiveness in face-offs.

Hyry has recorded 25 NHL regular-season games and four playoff games over the past two seasons, though much of his time has been spent with the AHL's Texas Stars. Last season, he appeared in 20 games for Dallas, recording 5 points and maintaining a high face-off win percentage. While he may start the season in the AHL, Hyry stated he is focused on playing his game day by day.
