Artur Jorge defends Cruzeiro coaching performance after victory

Cruzeiro manager Artur Jorge responded sharply to media criticism regarding his coaching during a post-match press conference following a victory over Remo in the Campeonato Brasileiro. After being questioned about the team's performance, Jorge rejected claims that the squad was poorly trained.

Jorge cited the team's statistical success to support his rebuttal, noting that Cruzeiro has secured 16 victories in 34 matches and earned 50 points out of a possible 72. He highlighted that the team maintains a 2.08 points-per-game average, which he described as a championship-level rate.

Regarding the upcoming derby against their major rival, Jorge emphasized the importance of consistency over individual matches. He stated that while he recognizes the social and emotional weight of the classic, his focus remains on maintaining the results achieved throughout the season.
