Artur Szpilka Announces Long‑Term Sobriety and Rejects Alcohol and Drugs
Polish MMA fighter Artur Szpilka said he now attends church every Sunday and has been clean of alcohol and drugs for several years. He explained that his father was an alcoholic who died by suicide, which motivated Szpilka to avoid substances that once fueled his own suicidal thoughts. The athlete, who previously mocked opponents using the sign of the cross, now condemns drug dealers and alcohol, calling them "life‑ending tragedies." Szpilka said his training has become his whole life and that he can now say "no" to harmful influences, spending his free time with his partner Kamil Wybrańczyk.
He emphasized that his new lifestyle is a conscious choice, not a passing phase, and highlighted the personal peace he has found after years of addiction and mental‑health struggles.
