Arturia launches MiniFreak 49 synthesizer

Arturia has released the MiniFreak 49, an expanded version of its popular Freak synthesizer series. This new model addresses previous user feedback regarding keyboard size by featuring 49 full-size, semi-weighted keys, complete with dedicated pitch and modulation wheels.

The instrument utilizes a hybrid engine with two digital engines and analog filters and VCAs per voice. Key technical additions include Audio-rate Filter FM, voice panning, and a pressure-sensitive XYZ touch matrix designed for performance, modulation, and navigation. The device also offers a true stereo engine and expanded panel controls for increased hands-on manipulation.

Compared to the more compact MiniFreak 37, the MiniFreak 49 has a larger form factor, weighing approximately 5.70 kg. While it provides more surface area and control, it comes at a higher price point, approximately 300€ more than the 37-key version.
