Arturia releases AstroLab 2.0 firmware update with new sound editing

Arturia has released the AstroLab 2.0 firmware update, introducing significant sound design capabilities directly to the hardware. The update features a new Sound Edit view, which allows users to perform detailed sound shaping without the need for a computer or external software.

Through the instrument’s central navigation wheel, the Sound Edit panel provides up to five pages of parameters per preset. These parameters are mapped to the AstroLab’s four macro knobs, offering control over elements such as filters, envelopes, and portamento for synthesizer presets, as well as instrument-specific parameters for sample-based acoustic sounds.

In addition to the enhanced editing tools, the update includes over 60 new stage-ready sounds, including piano, brass, strings, and bass. This update aims to transition the AstroLab from a preset-focused stage keyboard toward a more versatile synthesizer.
