Arturo Cerulli confirms serious illness but will remain Mayor of Monte Argentario

Arturo Cerulli, the mayor of Monte Argentario, has officially addressed recent rumors regarding his health, confirming a diagnosis of a serious oncological disease, believed to be lung cancer. During a live broadcast on Life Box Streaming, Cerulli stated, “I am well, I have never been as well as I am these days, but I am seriously ill.”

He explained that he is currently awaiting biopsy results from a hospital in Pisa to determine a specific treatment plan. Despite the diagnosis, Cerulli emphasized his intention to remain in office and fulfill his mandate through 2028. He noted that while he may occasionally be physically absent due to therapy, the municipal administration and his cabinet will continue to function normally.

Cerulli also addressed local speculation, clarifying that recent weight loss was due to a diet rather than illness, and expressed a desire to avoid further unverified rumors by speaking directly to the public.
