Arturo Enrique Guillén García arrested in Zapopan

Mexican federal forces, including the Navy, Army, and National Guard, arrested Arturo Enrique Guillén García, known as “El Nenuco,” in a private hospital in Zapopan, Jalisco. Guillén García is identified as a high-level operator for the Sinaloa Cartel and has previous ties to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

He faces multiple charges, including aggravated homicide, criminal association, human trafficking, and crimes committed against state police officers. Authorities link him to several high-profile incidents in Baja California, including the May 2023 attacks on the escort of former Tijuana Mayor Montserrat Caballero and the homicide of former Mayor Librado Álvarez Vizcaíno. He has also been associated with threatening messages sent to musicians in the region.

During the operation, security forces seized two long firearms, ammunition, and three vehicles.
