Arturo Márquez to headline cultural events in Mexico and California

Renowned Mexican composer Arturo Márquez will participate in upcoming cultural events in both Mexico and the United States.

In Oaxaca, Mexico, the Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México (SACM) and the State Executive Secretariat of the Public Security System (SESESP) will host the ‘Derechos de Autor/Arte y Cultura por la Paz’ forum on September 25. The event, held at the Ex Casino del Teatro Macedonio Alcalá, will feature prominent composers including Márquez, Laura Calderón, and Memo Méndez Guiú. The forum aims to discuss copyright as a human right and the role of music in fostering peace and cultural identity.

Additionally, Márquez is scheduled to perform in the Imperial Valley on October 10 at the Jimmie Cannon Theatre in El Centro, California. He will appear with the Imperial Valley Symphony in a concert intended to honor his musical legacy. Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit local students and the county symphony.
