Arturo Pérez-Reverte announces new novel and discusses literary career
Spanish author Arturo Pérez-Reverte is set to release a new novel titled “La hipótesis más peligrosa” through Alfaguara on October 20. The story is described as an adventure and initiation tale set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean, blending historical enigmas with a police procedural plot. The narrative follows Cal Gadea, a sixteen-year-old who tracks down his estranged father, Asier Lerrant, on a sailboat involved in the trafficking of stolen art.
In a recent interview, the 74-year-old novelist and member of the Royal Spanish Academy expressed personal reflections on his career. Pérez-Reverte noted that his greatest frustration is having more ideas than time allows, stating that choosing which stories to pursue while letting others die is one of the most painful experiences of his life.
