Arturo Pérez-Reverte releases new novel La hipótesis más peligrosa

Spanish author and academic Arturo Pérez-Reverte has released his latest novel, ‘La hipótesis más peligrosa’. The story follows Lerrant, a character who has observed human history for 2,000 years, including significant historical events such as the expulsion of the Jews from Granada and the Battle of Lepanto.

The narrative introduces a generational contrast through Cal Gadea, a 16-year-old boy whose interest in video games serves as a backdrop to his search for information regarding his deceased mother. The novel explores recurring historical themes of greed, ambition, and violence, balanced against themes of hope and the future.

In a recent interview, Pérez-Reverte discussed his creative process, noting that his home functions as an extension of his library, which contains approximately 36,000 books used for research and documentation. At 75, the author expressed that the realization of his limited time influences how he selects his future literary projects.
