Arturo Ruiz appointed Brighton Women head coach

Brighton & Hove Albion Women have appointed Arturo Ruiz as their new head coach following the unexpected departure of Dario Vidosic. Ruiz, 29, has signed a contract through 2029 and will join the Women's Super League (WSL) club once his work permit is finalized.

Ruiz arrives from Real Sociedad, where he previously led the team to a third-place finish in Liga F. His managerial background also includes stints at Atletico Madrid and Granada CF. He is expected to lead Brighton in their opening WSL match against Arsenal on September 6.

Vidosic stepped down to pursue a new opportunity, with reports suggesting he may join the National Women's Soccer League side Angel City in the United States. During his tenure at Brighton, Vidosic led the team to a fifth-place WSL finish and their first Women's FA Cup final appearance.
