Arturo Valencia performs classical concert at former Mexican Senate

Tenor Arturo Valencia and pianist Héctor Cruz performed a nostalgic concert at the Antigua Casona de Xicoténcatl, the former seat of the Mexican Senate. Organized in collaboration with the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), the event was part of the ‘Xico. Senado es Cultura’ program.

The recital featured works by various composers, including María Grever, Miguel Lerdo de Tejada, and José María Lacalle. The audience participated by singing along to classic melodies such as ‘Júrame’ and ‘Alma Mía’. The program also included Italian compositions and piano works by Cruz, such as the ‘Rapsodia Guelaguetza’, which pays homage to Oaxacan musical traditions.
