Aruba announces infrastructure and tourism development projects
Aruba’s Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, Wendrick Cicilia, has announced several infrastructure and recreational projects aimed at boosting tourism and improving community quality of life.
Key initiatives include the paving of over 3.5 kilometers of road in Seroe Colorado, a project costing nearly 3 million florin. Work began on October 5 and is expected to conclude by December 23, 2026. A fourth phase extending toward Baby Beach and Rodgers Beach is planned for 2027.
At Eagle Beach, reconstruction efforts will focus on roads, parking, pedestrian paths, and wheelchair accessibility, alongside green areas and a wall to protect white sand and turtles. Construction is slated to begin in January 2027.
Additional improvements include new public restrooms with disability access in Casibari and Ayo, as well as a master plan for Zeewijk that features kiosks, musical entertainment, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The Zeewijk concept is expected by November 2026.
