Aruba immigration official reports on residency permits issued from abroad

Katy Pasquel, director of Aruba’s Department of Integration, Management, and Admission of Foreigners (DIMAS), has provided updates regarding residency permits requested from outside the island. Since January 1, 2026, 484 individuals have received VTA authorization, which allows applicants to travel to Aruba to complete necessary medical examinations.

Of those authorized, 319 individuals have already obtained their permits, while 164 are still in the process of completing required medical exams. The procedure requires individuals seeking to establish legal residency and work in Aruba to apply from abroad if they have never lived on the island. This follows government measures announced in late 2025 aimed at regularizing the status of certain foreign nationals.
