Aruba's Partido Patriotico Arubano celebrates 77 years

The Partido Patriotico Arubano (PPA) is commemorating 77 years of existence, marking a period of reactivation and renewal for the political organization. The party is currently undergoing a process of reconstruction to strengthen its central vision and continue contributing to the development of Aruba.

The party's history traces back to October 23, 1949, when it was founded by Juan Enrique ‘Juancho’ Yrausquin and a group of visionary leaders following a split from the AVP. Yrausquin, a finance professional who served as the first director of Aruba's first commercial bank and later as a co-founder of Aruba Bank, is recognized as a key historical figure whose leadership helped establish financial stability for the island during a crucial transition period.
