Arun Sao reviews urban development and public works in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao conducted comprehensive reviews of urban administration and public works departments in Nava Raipur and Bijapur. During meetings with municipal commissioners and district officials, Sao emphasized the need for accountability, quality control, and timely completion of infrastructure projects.

In the urban development sector, the Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate construction, improve revenue collection through property surveys, and expand online payment facilities. He also ordered immediate action against illegal encroachments and instructed officials to conduct morning inspections to monitor sanitation and ground-level progress. He highlighted the importance of ensuring that central and state schemes, such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and PM SVANidhi, reach eligible citizens.

In Bijapur, the review focused on public works, public health engineering, and sports departments. Sao assessed the progress of roads, bridges, and government buildings, specifically monitoring the construction of bridges in Fundri, Bedre, and Basaguda. Additionally, he reviewed the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ scheme, stressing that the goal of providing regular and clean drinking water to every eligible household must be met through continuous monitoring of water supply projects.
