Aruna Irani returns to work following death of husband Kuku Kohli

Veteran Indian actor Aruna Irani has announced her return to work following the death of her husband, filmmaker Kuku Kohli. In a video message shared on social media, the 80-year-old actress expressed deep gratitude to her fans for their support during her period of mourning.

“After the death of Kukuji, the love you all gave me, the support you gave me, I am very, very grateful for that,” Irani stated, noting that the outpouring of affection provided her with the strength to resume her professional activities.

Kuku Kohli, whose real name was Avtar Kohli, passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 77 following a massive heart attack. He was a notable director known for the film ‘Phool Aur Kaante’. Irani and Kohli were married in 1990. Irani has a career spanning over six decades with more than 500 film credits in Hindi, Kannada, and Gujarati languages.
