Arunachal Pradesh approves ₹2,205 crore road plan for border villages
The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has announced significant infrastructure developments aimed at enhancing border connectivity. Under the central government’s Vibrant Villages Programme, the state has approved the construction of 1,022 km of roads valued at ₹2,205 crore. This project is designed to connect 126 border villages, with an additional 122 villages along the Myanmar and Bhutan borders included in the second phase of the initiative.
The program seeks to improve living conditions in remote frontier communities by providing better access to healthcare, education, markets, and government services. Beyond roadwork, the initiative focuses on livelihood generation, tourism, telecommunications, and energy to encourage residents to remain in strategic border areas.
Separately, the state cabinet issued a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years of continuous service as a head of government. The cabinet noted his leadership spanning from his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat to his current term as Prime Minister, highlighting national shifts in economic reform and infrastructure.
