Arunachal Pradesh notifies new recruitment eligibility criteria

The Arunachal Pradesh government has formally notified new uniform eligibility criteria for direct recruitment to state government posts, services, public sector undertakings, and autonomous bodies.

Under the authority of the Governor, the Department of Administrative Reforms & Training has mandated three specific requirements for candidates: a valid Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Arunachal Pradesh, an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) certificate, and a working knowledge of an indigenous tribal language of the state.

To enforce the language requirement, the notification establishes that candidates must undergo a mandatory language test within a three-year probation period or stipulated timeframe, until a formal proficiency test is integrated into the initial competitive examinations. The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has welcomed the move but cautioned recruiting agencies against any attempts to dilute or bypass these new provisions.
