Arunachal Pradesh Releases Draft Roll After 81% Voter Enumeration

Arunachal Pradesh published a draft electoral roll on 21 July as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral lists. Chief Electoral Officer Pawan Kumar Sain said 718,046 electors – about 81 % of the state's 887,505 registered voters – had completed the enumeration process, while 169,459 forms remained uncollected due to permanent migration, absence, deaths, duplicate enrolments and other reasons.

Electors whose names are missing can submit claims and objections from 21 July to 20 August, with scrutiny continuing until 18 September. The final electoral roll is slated for publication on 22 September. Sain stressed that no name will be deleted without prior notice and a reasoned order, and that eligible voters left out of the draft can still apply for inclusion. The enumeration involved officials across all 26 districts, booth‑level officers, volunteers and party agents who assisted in the exercise.
