Arunachal Pradesh resolves five Assam border disputes, talks continue

State Home Minister Mama Natung said Arunachal Pradesh has settled border disputes in five districts with Assam following the Namsai Declaration and is working through regional committees to resolve remaining sectors, including Papum Pare. He highlighted a recent incident in the Tarasso area of Papum Pare where arson and exchange of fire between local residents and Assam forest personnel occurred without injuries, urging peace and cooperation along the inter‑state border.

During the same event Natung inaugurated a new Rs 3 crore fire station in Yupia, Papum Pare district, noting that 13 fire stations have been built in district headquarters over the past three years and 337 new posts created, bringing the state’s firefighting workforce to 811 personnel. He also referenced the anti‑drug initiative “Operation Dawn,” which has led to multiple arrests.
