Arunachal Pradesh to begin Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated the Phase-III Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which includes Arunachal Pradesh. This nationwide exercise is being synchronized with ongoing Census house-listing activities to optimize field resources.
In Arunachal Pradesh, the process involves Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conducting house-to-house visits to verify and update voter details. The schedule includes preparation and training from June 5 to June 14, followed by field visits from June 15 to July 14. A draft electoral roll is expected on July 21, with the final roll scheduled for publication on September 22, 2026. The revision aims to verify approximately 887,607 electors in the state.
