Arunachal Pradesh to host Buddha relics exposition
The sacred relics of Lord Buddha will be displayed across three towns in Arunachal Pradesh from October 31 to November 20. Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced the historic event, which will feature exhibitions in Tawang, Bomdila, and Namsai.
The schedule for the exposition is as follows: • Tawang: October 31 to November 7 • Bomdila: November 8 to November 13 • Namsai: November 14 to November 20
The relics, which are currently preserved at the National Museum in New Delhi under strict conservation protocols, are being displayed to promote awareness of India’s Buddhist heritage. The event is being organized through the cooperation of the Union Ministry of Culture, the Arunachal Pradesh government, and international Buddhist organizations.
Local administrations, including West Kameng, are currently reviewing preparations regarding transportation, accommodation, and traffic management to ensure devotees from both urban and remote areas can participate. Officials have also discussed measures such as prohibiting animal slaughter in Bomdila during the period of the exposition.
