Arundel Town Council warns of safety risks from road closure breaches

Arundel Town Council has issued an urgent warning regarding motorists driving through legal road closures during the monthly Arundel Farmers Market. The council reported a rise in vehicles ignoring restrictions during market set-up and breakdown, creating severe health and safety risks for staff, volunteers, and traders.

To address these incidents, which have been reported to Sussex Police, market marshals will begin logging vehicle registration plates to assist with criminal prosecutions. The temporary closures occur on the third Saturday of each month between 6:00 am and 3:30 pm, with extended hours in August and December.
