Arvell Reese shines as Lawrence Taylor watches Giants victory
New York Giants rookie linebacker Arvell Reese delivered a standout performance during a 36-24 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at MetLife Stadium. Reese recorded nine solo tackles, a tackle for loss, a quarterback hit, three passes defensed, and his first career interception.
NFL legend Lawrence Taylor, widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive players in history, was in attendance to witness the rookie's play. Taylor, who revolutionized the linebacker position during his career with the Giants, praised Reese, stating, “He is playing great. I think he’s a good player.”
The game coincided with a ceremony honoring Taylor and the 1986 Giants team. Reese, the fifth overall pick out of Ohio State, expressed that having a standard-setter like Taylor in the building meant a great deal to him.
