Arvid Lindblad penalized during Dutch Grand Prix

Arvid Lindblad, driving for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, received a drive-through penalty during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. The stewards determined that Lindblad violated FIA F1 regulations by overtaking Car 10 at the end of the first lap in a sector where double yellow flags were displayed at Turn 14.

While a ten-second stop-and-go penalty is standard for such infractions, stewards opted for the lighter drive-through penalty due to significant debris on the track at the time. Lindblad also received two penalty points on his superlicense.

Lindblad expressed criticism regarding the decision, suggesting the penalty was extreme and that stewards appeared to be attempting to “set a precedent” rather than evaluating the specific infraction. He noted that the severity of the punishment mirrored a similar sanction previously faced by driver Franco Colapinto during the same event.
