Arvind Kejriwal challenges Amit Shah over drug menace in BJP-ruled states

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal has questioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the persistence of drug abuse in states governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), specifically naming Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Goa.

Kejriwal’s remarks follow a visit by Shah to Punjab, where the Home Minister criticized the AAP-led state government for failing to fulfill promises to curb the drug trade. During his visit, Shah expressed deep sadness after meeting families affected by drug-related deaths and set a deadline of December 31, 2029, for the eradication of the drug trade in Punjab.

Additionally, Shah has requested that the Bhagwant Mann administration hand over two specific cases from Sangrur and Gurdaspur to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further inquiry.
