Arvind Kejriwal Faces BJP Criticism on E‑20 Fuel Claims and Calls for Unconditional Lakshmi Scheme
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra accused Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal of making unfounded statements about the E‑20 ethanol‑blended petrol despite Kejriwal’s claim of an IIT degree. Malhotra questioned Kejriwal’s technical knowledge, highlighted the fuel’s potential to improve air quality and save foreign exchange, and demanded proof of vehicle damage caused by the fuel.
Kejriwal, in turn, criticised the BJP‑led Delhi government’s restrictive eligibility criteria for the Lakshmi scheme, urging it to adopt Punjab’s model that provides benefits to all women in a household without residency duration or political‑approval conditions. He argued that the current rules exclude many women and serve partisan interests.
