Arvind Kejriwal praises Maharashtra mother for running marathon to fund daughter's education
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has praised Ramabai Ranveer, a 47-year-old woman from the Beed district of Maharashtra, for running a marathon to fund her daughter's education. Ranveer participated in a 3-km race during the Amrit Daud event in Ambajogai, winning Rs 3,000 in prize money.
In a statement shared on X, Kejriwal commended Ranveer's spirit but used the incident to call for systemic reform. He argued that access to education should be a fundamental right for daughters rather than a struggle requiring extreme personal sacrifice, questioning if individual acts of charity are sufficient to address broader societal issues.
