Ary Fontoura denounces fake news regarding his death

Brazilian actor Ary Fontoura, 93, has denounced fake news circulating on Facebook that falsely announced his death. The veteran performer clarified via social media that he is “alive and very well.”

Fontoura revealed that the fraudulent posts used his image and an invented date of death to lure users into clicking links. These links reportedly redirect users to commercial sales pages, functioning as a digital trap or scam.

The actor expressed frustration over the lack of respect shown to his family and friends due to the potential distress caused by the hoax. He urged his followers to report such content and issued a direct plea to Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, to assist in addressing the issue.
