Arya Saloka addresses comparisons to Syamsul Yusof in Munafik remake

Indonesian actor Arya Saloka has addressed the inevitable comparisons between his portrayal of Ustaz Adam in the film ‘Munafik: Melawan Iblis’ and the original performance by Syamsul Yusof.

Saloka expressed that he does not view these comparisons as a source of pressure. He noted that every actor brings a unique interpretation and approach to a character, drawing parallels to Hollywood actors like Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix, who both portrayed the Joker with distinct styles.

Saloka stated that he respects the audience's diverse tastes and understands the significant impact the original 2016 Malaysian production had on the industry. He emphasized his goal is to provide his best performance based on his own capabilities and interpretation rather than competing with previous iterations.
