Belarusian politician Pavel Latushka, a member of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s shadow cabinet, has publicly called out Sabalenka for her silence on the geopolitical conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Latushka expressed that as one of Belarus’s most prominent athletes, Sabalenka has a responsibility to use her global platform to address the country's situation, noting that he has attempted to contact her multiple times without success.

Separately, Sabalenka has faced backlash from fans following a partnership with Dobel Tequila ahead of the US Open. Critics on social media questioned the appropriateness of an elite athlete promoting alcohol, suggesting that such endorsements contrast with the disciplined lifestyle required for professional tennis. The partnership includes signature cocktails and promotional campaigns at major tournaments.
