Arzachena presents Costa Smeralda luxury model at G20Spiagge Summit

Arzachena participated in the ninth G20Spiagge Destination Summit held in Lignano Sabbiadoro, representing the Italian seaside network that accounts for 12% of national tourism presence. An institutional delegation from the municipality, including Vice Mayor Alessandro Malu and Tourism Councilor Claudia Giagoni, presented on the evolution of luxury destinations.

The discussion focused on the Costa Smeralda model in Porto Cervo, which serves as an international benchmark for high-end tourism. Councilor Giagoni noted that the Costa Smeralda model has acted as a catalyst for the Arzachena territory, driving a continuous search for high quality across various sectors, including boutique hotels, international wineries, and nautical services.

To maintain leadership in the Mediterranean, officials emphasized the need for stronger alliances between public governance, large corporate groups, and local communities. Other summit topics included the legislative process for recognizing Marine Communities and strategies for managing tourist flows in overcrowded locations to protect coastal areas from seasonal pressure.
