AS Monaco Basket awaits CNOSF decision following new investment

The future of AS Monaco Basket in the French top-tier basketball league, Betclic Élite, remains uncertain as the National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) prepares to issue a recommendation. The club was previously excluded from professional competition due to insufficient financial guarantees.

A significant development has emerged following the arrival of a major European industrialist in the agribusiness sector, who has reportedly taken control of the club. This new investor has committed 10 million euros for the 2026/2027 season, with a portion of these funds already transferred to the club’s bank account. This new financial structure, which could see the investor holding up to 98% of the capital, is expected to fundamentally alter the financial assessment of the club's case.

The National Financing Company (SNF) has reportedly approved the transaction. The CNOSF’s decision, which may prompt the French basketball federation to reconsider Monaco's participation, is expected on Friday, August 28.
