AS Monaco midfielder Aleksandr Golovin targeted by Russian clubs

AS Monaco midfielder Aleksandr Golovin is facing a potential transfer to the Russian Premier League as the Russian transfer window approaches its close this Thursday. Spartak Moscow has reportedly accelerated negotiations by offering €19 million for the 30-year-old, alongside a proposed four-year contract with an optional fifth year and an annual salary between €4.5 million and €5 million.

Golovin, who has been with Monaco since 2018 and holds a contract until June 2029, has been a key player under manager Filipe Luís, contributing two assists in the opening matches of the Ligue 1 season. While Zenit Saint Petersburg has also shown interest, the player himself is reportedly hesitant about an immediate return to Russia, potentially preferring to wait until the January transfer window to decide his future.

His departure would follow several other recent exits from Monaco, including Maghnes Akliouche to PSG and Aladji Bamba to Newcastle. The club must act quickly if they wish to finalize a deal before the Russian market closes.
