AS Monaco submits second offer for Cruz Azul's Erik Lira

AS Monaco has submitted a second offer to Cruz Azul for midfielder and captain Erik Lira, but negotiations remain stalled. According to reports, the latest proposal from the French Ligue 1 club has not yet met the financial expectations of the Mexican side.

One complicating factor in the transfer is that Pumas holds a 20% stake in the player, meaning Cruz Azul would only receive 80% of the total transfer fee. While Cruz Azul may be willing to accept approximately $8 million to facilitate the move, current offers are reportedly significantly lower.

As no agreement has been reached, Lira is expected to remain with Cruz Azul for their upcoming match against Atlas. Meanwhile, interest in the 26-year-old remains high, with reports suggesting a Premier League club is monitoring the situation should the Monaco deal fail to materialize.
